We are very sorry to let you know that Derrick Marsden has died. Derrick was one of the principal founders of Southwold Young People’s Hostel Association (SYPHA), Shire Way Community Association, Midway Social Club and much else besides. He was one of the people who really built our community from scratch.
He will be sorely missed, and in particular his influence on our young people will be felt for many years to come. He and his wife Ann were inspirations to the youngsters at SYPHA, many of whom called him Dad or Uncle.
