Memorial Garden

The Parish Council own and maintain QEII Playing Fields in Yate (formally Kelston Playing Fields). Due to the closure of Wapley Court Care Home in 2011 and subsequent demolition, the Parish Council received monies to develop a memorial garden at this open space.  The garden was completed in Spring 2019 and provides a peaceful area for visitors to sit and reflect amongst the new  trees and plants growing there.

The garden features a bench to commemorate soldiers and personnel that lost their lives and were injured during World War One.  This has been funded by South Gloucestershire Council Member Awarded Funding.


The Parish Council can offer placement of a memorial for a loved one at the garden.  This would take the form of a plaque on a brick, which is set in the ground to create a path edging.  Please see below for more details:
