Woodchester Play Area Upgrade – Spring 2019

Dodington Parish Council is responsible for both the toddler’s play area and older children’s play area at Woodchester in Yate.  In 2018, we were awarded Section 106 monies to update these play areas.  This funding is being distributed by South Gloucestershire Council from the development at the site of the former care home on Kelston Close, Yate, for contributions towards Children and Young People’s Provision.

We completed a public consultation for this project, which ended at midnight on 7th August 2018.  Thank you to everyone who responded.

Work begins w/c 6th May on the toddler play area and also the recreational area (where the goal post and basketball hoop is).  These works will be completed by Wicksteed Leisure.    The junior play area will receive an update once these works have been completed.

The works to the toddler area will see the current bark surface replaced with grass matting, plus a host of new equipment for younger children to enjoy.  The recreational area will receive two new combination goal/basketball hoops.

The site staff will keep disruption and noise to a minimum during these works.  Please take care if you are in the area during the works as there will be slow-moving vehicles on site.  If you have any concerns about the works, please contact the Parish Council on 01454 866546 / clerk@dodingtonpc.org.uk
