local walks

There are several mapped walking routes to enjoy in our Parish and the local area.

Take a look at the information below to find out more about local walks.  If you would like a printed copy of any of these leaflets, please contact the office and we would be happy to send one out to you – 01454 866546 / clerk@dodingtonpc.org.uk

Dodington is home to Wapley Bushes Local Nature Reserve which has an Easy Access Walk – suitable for people with buggies, pushchairs or wheelchairs and it also has a lovely circular walk taking you through the Upper and Lower Meadow and Wooded Area onto the Common.

For a leaflet / further details – please the Parish Office or the TIC in Chipping Sodbury.

A few years ago, four different circular walks between six Churches within the Parishes of Chipping Sodbury, Dodington, Westerleigh and Yate were devised.

Again, for leaflets / further information – please contact either the Parish Office or the TIC in Chipping Sodbury.

We are happy to offer a brand new leaflet with two walking routes devised to mark Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee year in 2022.  You can find a PDF version here: Wapley Walks.  We also have hard copies at the Parish Council office if you would like one.

South Gloucestershire Council has a number of walks and trails listed on their website, with maps to download.  You will find them at the following link: Heritage walks and trails
