Covid-19 Pandemic – Useful information and links

We find ourselves in unprecedented times because of the Covid-19 Pandemic.  Dodington Parish Council realises that this is a very difficult and worrying time for many residents.  We hope that the links on this page are helpful during this time.

Under national restrictions, the Parish Hall remains closed to most users.   The Parish Council office will also be closed to visitors, with staff working from home.  You can contact the Parish Council on: 01454 866546 / clerk@dodingtonpc.org.uk

Covid -19 – Vaccinations

You can check whether you are eligible to have the vaccine yet and book online on the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-vaccine/
The Covid-19 vaccine is free of charge on the NHS – do not enter any payment details if you are asked to do so.  If you think you have been the victim of fraud, contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
Covid 19 – Testing
A new Covid testing facility for people with symptoms has opened next to Courtside Surgery in Yate.  Appointments for the testing facility next to Courtside Surgery have to be pre-booked using the online system at gov.uk or by calling 119.
You can read more about the testing facility here – South Glos website
Everyone aged 16+ without Covid-19 symptoms can now access free rapid (Lateral Flow) testing.  Studies show that 1 in 3 people with Covid-19 have no symptoms, so rapid testing is a great way to catch infections early.  There are several rapid test sites set up by South Gloucestershire Council.  The nearest to Dodington is at Yate Parish Hall on Station Road: http://orlo.uk/SouthGlos_aVWa3
Alternatively you can collect a test to carry out at home. Find out where to collect a test: http://orlo.uk/SouthGlos_NShnj
If you test positive, you must book a PCR test on the gov.uk/ website, and self-isolate immediately.
