Covid-19 Pandemic – Useful information and links

We find ourselves in unprecedented times because of the Covid-19 Pandemic.  Dodington Parish Council realises that this is a very difficult and worrying time for many residents.  We hope that the links on this page are helpful during this time.

Covid -19 – Vaccinations

Also look out for pop-up clinics offering walk-in vaccines.
The Covid-19 vaccine is free of charge on the NHS – do not enter any payment details if you are asked to do so.  If you think you have been the victim of fraud, contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
Covid 19 – Testing
A Covid testing facility for people with symptoms has opened next to Courtside Surgery in Yate.  Appointments for the testing facility next to Courtside Surgery have to be pre-booked using the online system at gov.uk or by calling 119.  This site is walk-in only.  There is a drive-in testing facility at Lyde Green Park and Ride, just 15 minutes from Chipping Sodbury.
You can book a PCR Covid test on the NHS website or by calling 119: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
Everyone aged 16+ without Covid-19 symptoms can now access free rapid (Lateral Flow) testing.  Studies show that 1 in 3 people with Covid-19 have no symptoms, so rapid testing is a great way to catch infections early.  Order a testing kit online: https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests
It should be noted that lateral flow tests are not a substitute for PCR tests – if you have symptoms of Covid, please arrange to have a PCR test and isolate until you have your result.
